When it comes to almond milk and Almond Breeze, what’s the difference?

From low-carb dieters to classic chocolate milk enthusiasts, there’s something for everyone in the Almond Breeze Almond Milk collection.

Almond Breeze in its most basic form On a very neutral background, Almond Milk formula has a very pleasant natural almond flavor. It has a creamy consistency, although it isn’t as thick as cow’s milk. Consider the Almond Breeze Blends for a richer milk beverage.

We’ve had terrific experience using this product in baking and cooking, and we’ve tried a few different variations. For a few of them, I’ve provided our notes. If you’ve tried any of these, feel free to offer your own rating and review in the comments section below!

Please note that the fortifications may differ between various formats, as a reader expressed concern. The shelf-stable, refrigerated, and huge refrigerated can all differ, especially since they are all created individually, as previously said.

This sweet and delicious flavor is a classic. We didn’t think it tasted particularly almond-y, but it was a tasty milk alternative in general. It’s a tasty treat with a minimal sugar content.

Refrigerated Almond Breeze is Kosher OU-D certified, which means it’s dairy-free and manufactured on heated equipment that could potentially be used for dairy. To ensure that products processed on dairy equipment are dairy-free, Blue Diamond follows strict equipment cleaning and testing protocols. Dairy-free items prepared on heated equipment also used for dairy cannot be eaten with a meat product according to strict kosher standards. Individuals with dairy sensitivities can safely consume chilled Almond Breeze.

All Shelf Stable Almond Breeze products are Kosher OU certified, which means that all of the ingredients are kosher and include no animal or dairy ingredients or derivatives.

Individuals with dairy allergies can safely consume both chilled and shelf-stable Almond Breeze.

Despite the fact that they work with almonds, cashews, and coconuts, their facility is peanut-free. All of their goods are gluten-free and egg-free, according to the company.

Is carrageenan present in Almond Breeze milk?

Original (7 g sugar per cup), Vanilla (12 g sugar per cup), Chocolate (17 g sugar per cup), and Coconut (17 g sugar per cup) (6g sugar). There is an unsweetened variant of each of these.

Almondmilk (Filtered Water, Almonds), Cane Sugar, Calcium Carbonate, Sea Salt, Potassium Citrate, Sunflower Lecithin, Gellan Gum, D-Alpha-Tocopherol, D-Alpha-Tocopherol, D-Alpha-Tocopherol, D-Alpha-Tocopherol, D-Alpha-Tocopherol, D-Alpha-Tocopherol, D-Alpha-Tocopherol, D (Natural Vitamin E).

Is Almond Breeze enriched with vitamins?

Almondmilk, Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Unsweetened “Plus, it’s fortified with 45 percent of the dietary value (DV) of calcium and 25 percent of the DV of Vitamin D, much like other almond milks.”

Is xylitol present in Almond Breeze?

According to the ingredient label on the container, this almond milk is sweetened with cane sugar rather than xylitol. As a result, you don’t have to be concerned about your dog ingesting xylitol from this almond milk.

Lacks protein

Almond milk has only 1 gram of protein per cup (240 ml), compared to 8 and 7 grams in cow’s and soy milk, respectively (16, 17).

Protein is required for a variety of body processes, including muscular growth, skin and bone construction, and the generation of enzymes and hormones (18, 19, 20).

Beans, lentils, nuts, seeds, tofu, tempeh, and hemp seeds are among the high-protein dairy-free and plant-based foods.

If you don’t mind eating animal products, eggs, fish, poultry, and beef are all good sources of protein (21).

Unsuitable for infants

Cow’s or plant-based milks should not be given to children under the age of one year because they can inhibit iron absorption. Until 46 months of age, breastfeed or use infant formula exclusively until solid meals can be introduced (22).

Offer water as a nutritious beverage option in addition to breast milk or formula at 6 months of age. Cow’s milk can be given to your infant’s diet after the age of one (22).

Plant-based drinks, with the exception of soy milk, are inherently low in protein, fat, calories, and a variety of vitamins and minerals, including iron, vitamin D, and calcium. These nutrients are necessary for development and growth (23, 24).

Almond milk has only 39 calories per cup, 3 grams of fat, and 1 gram of protein (240 ml). This is insufficient for a developing infant (5, 24).

Continue to breastfeed or see your doctor for the best nondairy formula if you don’t want your kid to swallow cow’s milk (23).

May contain additives

Sugar, salt, gums, tastes, and lecithin and carrageenan can all be included in processed almond milk (types of emulsifiers).

Texture and consistency are achieved by the use of emulsifiers and gums. Unless ingested in really large quantities, they are harmless (25).

Despite this, a test-tube study indicated that carrageenan, which is often used as an emulsifier in almond milk and is generally considered harmless, may disturb intestinal health. Before any judgments can be drawn, however, further thorough research is required (26).

Despite these issues, many companies avoid using this ingredient entirely.

Furthermore, many flavored and sweetened almond milks include a lot of sugar. Sugar consumption can lead to weight gain, tooth problems, and other chronic illnesses (13, 14, 27).

Almond milk is low in protein, lipids, and nutrients necessary for an infant’s growth and development. Furthermore, many processed kinds contain sugar, salt, flavors, gums, and carrageenan, among other things.

What kind of milk is the healthiest to drink?

Hemp milk is prepared from crushed, soaked hemp seeds that are free of the psychotropic ingredient found in Cannabis sativa plants.

Protein and omega-3 and omega-6 unsaturated fats are abundant in the seeds. As a result, hemp milk has a somewhat higher concentration of these nutrients than other plant milks.

Although hemp milk is almost carb-free, some brands include sweets, which raise the carb count. Make sure to read the ingredient label and get hemp or any other plant milk that hasn’t been sweetened.

On the ingredient label, sugar may be described as brown rice syrup, evaporated cane juice, or cane sugar.

The seeds of the Cannabis sativa plant are used to make hemp milk. While the drink isn’t psychotropic, it does include more healthful fats and protein than other plant milks.

Is Almond Breeze no longer available?

Updated in the year 2021! Blue Diamond took a step beyond milk beverages in 2019 when they introduced Almond Breeze Almondmilk Creamer, which comes in two flavors: unsweetened and vanilla. They launched a third flavor, Sweet Crme, in early 2020. They revamped and introduced Caramel to the line-up in the same stormy year they withdrew their Unsweetened Original (for reasons we’ll never know).

Almond Breeze Almondmilk Creamer is still available, albeit it can be difficult to obtain because it appears and disappears from store shelves. We’ve included information on all of the current flavors below.
