Restaurant corporations are hurrying to release animal-free menu options in response to the popularity of vegan meat alternatives, and Starbucks is no exception. Although the coffee shop previously offered dairy-free options for most of its drinks, this is the first time nondairy drinks have been included to the regular menu.
In March 2019, Starbucks began offering oat milk in select Starbucks Reserve stores and Starbucks Princi Bakeries, a new trending milk option that has seemingly superseded almond milk in favor. Oat milk will be available at 1,300 supermarkets across Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin later this month.
